Kinnari Music Festival

Monday, June 19th through Saturday, June 24th, 2023
International School Bangkok (ISB)

Why Kinnari?

Kinnari (กินรี) is a celestial musician, part human and part bird, who, as a couple, are musically paradigmatic lovers, in Hinduism and Buddhism. They are renowned for their dance, song and poetry, and are a traditional symbol of feminine beauty, grace, and accomplishment.

The festival’s main logo denotes the Thai letter “ก” or “K” for Kinnari, but in an abstract, artistic form which looks almost like the head of a bird.  The letter continues to create a mirror image, allowing one to look at it from any angle, and feel the flourish and dynamism of Kinnari.

Our hope is when you see this logo, you will always remember that it represents an ode to the beauty and grace of music, and to the host country Thailand.
